Major US-based global law firm has an immediate opening for talented and highly motivated Tax Attorney for its office in Tokyo.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

---Advising multinational clients on the structuring of international corporate groups, including the establishment of subsidiaries and branches (or their liquidation and dissolution)

---Drafting of intercompany agreements

---Planning and negotiation of mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations

---Providing advice on corporate income tax, value-added tax issues, excise and capital duties, collective investment arrangements, supply chain management, tax incentives and preferential tax treatment, private equity and venture capital, capital markets, including IPOs, secondary issues and pre-IPO restructuring investment, tax disputes and investigations

 ---Formulating effective and tax-efficient cross-border strategies for Asia, US and overseas investments.

PROFILE:

 

---JD, LLB or LLM

---3+ years or significant international tax background

---LLM in Taxation would be a plus
---Native English ability, fluency in Japanese
---Qualification as an attorney in the US, UK or Australia

---Excellent written and verbal communication skills ---Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

---Ability to juggle priorities and deadlines.
