Growing major US-based IT company looking to further expand its French legal team, is searching for a French qualified lawyer with substantial professional experience in intellectual property and media law.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating content licensing agreements, managing and resolving disputes and providing legal advice in the field of IP and media law (with en emphasis on audiovisual and advertising regulations).

---Draft, negotiate and adapt under French law a wide variety of commercial agreements including content licenses, strategic partnership agreements
---Advise the management, the EU and US legal department, business development, advertising sales, marketing and other business clients, and respond promptly and reliably to their legal requests under French and European law regarding contracts law, commercial regulations, intellectual property, advertising and communications law and consumer protection
---Assistance with pre-contentious and contentious matters
---Special responsibilities and projects as required.

PROFILE:
 
---DEA, DESS, Magistere in commercial, audiovisual, intellectual property or technology law
---LLM or equivalent from an English or North American law school is a plus
---Substantial professional experience in a media company in France (tv, radio, cinema, book publishing, press) or in a law firm advising such clients in France
---Expertise in communications law (audiovisual, press, advertising) and contract law (with a focus on copyright and neighboring rights)
---Experience in litigation (whether in-house or in law firms) is a plus
---Excellent understanding of online technologies and services
---Excellent knowledge of the French media and content production industries, including its trade organizations, authors societies and collective rights management schemes
---Excellent written and oral skills in French and English. Fluency in another European language (in particular Italian or
Spanish) is strongly preferred
---Good business judgment
---Hard working, well organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
---Flexibility (including some travel) and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters
---Great sense of humor, commitment to professionalism, customer service.
