The global practice group of a major international law
firm seeks an energetic lawyer to handle mergers and
structural issues, criminal grand jury proceedings,
international antitrust enforcement, pricing practices,
product distribution, joint ventures, class actions
based on federal statutes and state unfair competition
laws.
PROFILE:
 
---JD, LLB, LLM
---3 years of general litigation experience to
include deposition prep, conducting depositions, fact
gathering, internal investigations (preferred)
---Prior clerkship or SEC
experience is desirable
---Strong academic credentials and excellent writing and
communication skills.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
---Controversial mergers involving regulatory systems of
various countries
---Novel licensing questions
---Complex defenses of corporations subject to multiple
cartel investigations
---Sensitive internal and government investigations
---Preventive counseling and advice on complex issues as
well as defense of " bet the company" litigation
---Representing clients before the Federal Trade
Commission and the Antitrust Division of the Department
of Justice
---Advising foreign companies from Canada, Latin America,
Germany, France, Japan, the United Kingdom and Russia
with respect to pre-merger notification and review in
the United States, as well as pricing and distribution
practices compliance with domestic antitrust laws.
---Representing foreign entities in investigations brought
by U.S. agencies, and private antitrust lawsuits under
both federal and state laws.
