The Washington DC office of an international law firm has an opening for a junior to mid-level associate for its Trademark & Copyright Practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

---JD, LLB, LLM

---1 to 4 years of experience in more than one of the following areas:
* intellectual property licensing and transactions, including technology agreements and franchising;
* advertising, including marketing, sponsorship, and promotional agreements and issues (such as contests)
* U.S. and international trademark prosecution, clearance, and counseling
* trademark/copyright enforcement and litigation (civil and administrative).
---Strong academic credentials and excellent writing and communication skills.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

---Filing of domestic and foreign applications.
---Managing portfolios of global trademark registrations and pending applications
---Advising individuals, corporations and law firms on a broad range of international trademark related matters including clearance and adoption of marks, prosecution of marks, oppositions, infringement and cancellation actions and drafting and negotiating worldwide coexistence agreements.
---Monitoring of upcoming filing requirements, assessing portfolios strength, and tracking the status of any disputes.
---Representing clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
