Mr. B. is a member of New York Intellectual Property and Litigation groups and is currently engaged in patent procurement, both U.S. and foreign, and also in litigation support. He has extensive experience in research and development in the biotechnology industry as a research scientist and principal investigator, publishing over a dozen papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. International Trade

Ms. F. specializes in international commercial arbitration and commercial litigation. Ms. F. has experience of arbitral proceedings conducted under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), as well as ad hoc proceedings, such as under the arbitration rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). Ms. F. has advised on matters involving sovereign State parties. She has particular experience in the assessment of the viability of claims under investment protection treaties and under general international law. Ms. F. has worked on disputes involving both common and civil laws, in Russia, Poland, France, Turkey, Switzerland, Algeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

International Investments

Ms. P. concentrates her practice on international tax, including negotiating Advance Pricing Agreements and resolving business tax issues. Ms. P. has assisted in negotiating both Advance Pricing Agreements and Advance Pricing Agreement renewals. She has also assisted in preparing the Annual Reports that accompany the APA as well as preparing documentation for transactions not covered by the APA. Ms. P. has advised on a variety of international tax issues. These include permanent establishment, investment, and other business-related issues. Ms. P. was admitted as a foreign practicing attorney in Japan.

International Banking

Ms. H. has experience in a range of banking, acquisition and export finance transactions representing banks, borrowers, as well as sponsors. Ms. H. has also gained experience in the area of financial restructuring assisting clients both from the London and the New York office, where she was based working within the bankruptcy and restructuring team. In all financing transactions, Ms. H. was involved in the structuring of the deal, in drafting and negotiating term sheets and other commitment documents, loan agreements, trust deeds and creditor agreements, escrow agreements, security documents and guarantees. Ms. H. also has experience in advising on export and project finance transactions involving the participation of ECAs, with particular reference to the Italian market.

Dr. U. focuses on patent procurement, opinion work, and patent litigation. His field of specialty includes pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and biotechnology. U.'s experience includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications, rendering patentability and infringement opinions, managing patent portfolios, and advising clients on their patent strategies. He has been involved in patent litigations as well.

International Financing

After several years in the Firm’s Asia practice, including as managing partner of the Tokyo and Singapore offices, T. has recently relocated to Europe, where he focuses on project finance, mergers and acquisitions and foreign investment to and from Asia. He supervised and assisted the development of the Firm’s practice in South and Southeast Asia, including India, and focused as well on client transactions in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. With his relocation to Europe, Mr. T. now focuses on project development and finance as well as on servicing clients who seek to develop or expand their business between Western Europe and Asia.

W. is an associate in the firm’s international arbitration and commercial litigation practice groups. Ms. W. has assisted in the representation of clients in international commercial arbitrations under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), and with regard to issues of public international law and foreign investment. Ms. W. has also been involved in the representation of pro bono clients in immigration and asylum matters. International Tax

N. specializes in French and international tax matters. He is particularly active in structuring the acquisition of French and foreign companies. N. also regularly advises French and foreign investment funds with their investment in French real estate. N. regularly works with foreign companies to implement foreign employee incentives plans in France (stock options, restricted stock units, etc.). In addition, N. practices in the area of tax planning for French and foreign individuals. Furthermore, N. assists taxpayers in tax and customs audits as well as litigation with tax and customs administration before French courts. He recently assisted a German corporate client facing a corporate tax reassessment in relation to its French permanent establishment.
